The exceptionally written K-Drama series, Queen of Tears, is ending soon. But in episode 14, there was one detail that the show's writer seemed to forget. This is why avid fans are talking about how anyone can just be Hae-In's guardian in Queen of Tears.

What Happened to Hae-In in Queen of Tears Episode 14?
In episode 14 of Queen of Tears, Baek Hyun-Woo (played by Kim Soo-Hyun) is able to convince his wife, Hong Hae-In (played by Kim Ji-Won), to proceed with the brain surgery that would save her life.
Even though Hae-In was hesitant about the surgery since it would cause her lose to her memories, she decided to push through with it in the end.
Hyun-Woo promised that he would be there the moment Hae-In opened her eyes. But because of Yoon Eun-Sung's (played by Park Sung-Hoon) scheme, Hyun-Woo was arrested by the police under allegations of murdering Pyeon Seong-Uk (played by Kwak Jin-Seon).
So when Hae-In woke up from her surgery, the first person she saw was Eun-Sung, the antagonist of the show. He told Hae-In that she asked him to wait for her after the surgery and that they've been dating since college.
Eun-Sung also explained to Hae-In that Hyun-Woo was her ex-husband who hurt her badly.

Fans React to Hae-In's Guardian in Queen of Tears Episode 14
After Hyun-Woo's arrest, Hae-In's parents called the German hospital because they saw the news on Hyun-Woo's arrest. Eun-Sung answered the call and told them he would be taking care of Hae-In after her surgery.
Hae-In's father, Hong Beom-Jun (played by Jung Jin-Young), said that they would fly to Germany as soon as possible. Unfortunately, Eun-Sung told him that he was on the no-fly list for allegations of embezzlement and malpractice.
This caused Queen of Tears fans to call out the writer for this badly written part of the K-Drama. Here's what they're saying:
They also pointed out that this is the "most disappointing in this drama" since Hae-In was a "very high profile" patient and allowed anyone to just care for her. They also pointed out how Hae-In was able to come back from brain surgery with an unshaven head.
One fan also pointed out how Hae-In could only be seen as a "medical tourist" in Germany instead of a high profile one.
It's also possible that Eun-Sung could have bribed hospital staff to let him be her guardian.

What is the Real Hospital Policy on Guardians While in Surgery?
Based on this hospital's policy on patient's rights:
"A patient has the right to designate visitors who shall receive the same visitation privileges as the patient’s immediate family members, regardless of whether the visitors are legally related to the patient."
While this may not apply to every hospital or country, it is the closest we could find that is related to Hae-In and Hyun-Woo's case.
Apart from allowing just anyone to take over as a high-profile patient's guardian, the show has broken another rule.
The fact that Eun-Sung was able to learn the specifics about Hae-In's surgery date, procedure, and hospital is alarming. This information is not available to anyone other than the patient's spouse or appointed guardian.
But then again, let's remember that this is a show written by writers. Some bits may have been exaggerated to enhance the storyline.
