In Queen of Tears, we already know that someone saved Hae-in from drowning when she was young. Unfortunately, her older brother died from that incident. In Queen of Tears episode 12, we're getting to know more about the past.

Queen of Tears Drowning Scene: What Happened to Hae-in?
We learned about the past tragedy that happened to the Hong family from episode 6. In that incident, Hae-in (played by Kim Ji-Won) was saved by a young boy when their rowboat flipped over at sea.
Unfortunately, Hae-in lost her older brother in the accident. Because of this, her mother, Seon-Hwa (played by Na Young-Hee) resents and takes the blame on Hae-in.
This led Hae-in to be distant from her mother, which damaged their relationship.

Did Eun-Sung Really Save Hae-in from Drowning?
In Queen of Tears episode 12, Yoon Eun-Sung (played by Park Sung-Hoon) claimed that he was the one who saved Hae-in from drowning. He told Hae-in about this when he took her home to visit her grandfather.
Eun-Sung claimed that it was the first time he met her.
In another scene, Jeon Bong-Ae (played by Hwang Young-Hee) is flipping through Baek Hyun-Woo's (played by Kim Soo-Hyun) baby pictures when Seon-Hwa asks to join her.
As she flips through the pages, she stops and says she recognizes a photo of a beach with a group of kids walking on the shore. Bong-Ae tells her that Hyun-Woo joined a children's Marine Corps Camp and saved a kid from drowning.
This makes viewers wonder who really saved Hae-in from drowning on that beach.
