Gwyneth Paltrow is one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's longest-tenured stars and there seems to be no end in sight when it comes to her Earth-616 journey.

While nothing official has been set in stone, many expect the 50-year-old actress to reprise her role as Pepper Potts in Ironheart and Armor Wars which obviously makes sense given her ties to Tony Stark.

However, it looks like Paltrow is ready to move forward from the billion-dollar franchise and judging by her latest statement, it seems like the superhero fatigue has already caught up to her.

On a recent episode of The Goop Podcast, Paltrow was asked by fellow MCU alumnus Scarlett Johansson about possibly returning to the franchise. Considering Pepper is still pretty much alive, one would think that the actress is always down for more Marvel action.

Well, despite her past statements about wanting to come back, it seems like Paltrow is having a change of heart. While she did entertain the idea, saying: "I think so. I mean, I didn’t die so they can always ask me."

Johansson, who played Natasha Romanoff in several MCU flicks believes Gwyneth will return but the A-list star doesn't seem too thrilled with the idea of playing an older version of her character. She said: "Really? A 64-year-old Pepper Potts? How great."

I mean, I totally understand where Gwyneth is coming from because as an actress, no one would want to be trapped inside a bubble for a long time. The actress has been part of the MCU since its inception in 2008 and I'd like to assume being part of it all is no walk in the park.

Marvel Studios' Ironheart is expected to hit Disney+ this Fall.
