Gwyneth Paltrow: An Actress, Businesswoman and More

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Chris Martin’s ex-wife has a fortune of $150 million and it partly comes from her successful acting career and lifestyle business.

She has been acting since the 1990s, debuting in the movie Shout in 1991. It was followed by the release of Hook in the same year, making her a part of the young female rising stars of the said era, earning a huge following, multiple awards and positive reviews.

However, her rise to popularity didn’t come until she made Se7en in 1995. From here, she made her way to doing British period dramas, like Emma.

Come 1998; she dropped five high-profile films, A Perfect Murder, Hush, Great Expectations, Sliding Doors and, of course, Shakespeare in Love, which became her breakout performance. The film gave her a huge paycheck of $750,000, universal acclaim and a Best Actress Oscar award.

From here, she started earning big, like $10 million for the 2003 movie View from the Top, despite the movie being a flop. Gwyneth Paltrow also ventured into doing comedy films. But her most notable role is probably as Pepper Potts in the Iron Man franchise, reprising her role in two Iron Man sequels, three Avengers films and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Aside from acting, she also does singing, dropping a number of singles, like Country Strong. Of course, Goop will not be out of the list.

Her real legacy began when she founded the lifestyle brand, Goop, in 2018. From a lifestyle newsletter, it quickly turned into a website, a print magazine, a podcast and pop-up shops. Her other ventures include writing cookbooks.

The Bad Publicity Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t Mind

The huge success of Goop comes with some of the biggest controversies. In fact, it has faced legal complaints about its 50 products, filed by a not-for-profit group, Truth in Advertising.

It claimed a mugwort vaginal steaming left its user with second-degree burns instead of a clean uterus, like what it advertised. However, despite having a $145,000 fine, the noise just boosted the brand’s sales further, piquing the public’s interest.

“I have friends with chronic issues that western medicine isn’t healing,” Gywneth Paltrow said, per The CEO Magazine. “We are, as a culture, very resistant to more natural options. There might not be board-certified physicians doing double-blind studies that can lay out the results in the same way; the empirical evidence is anecdotal.”

Goop is now said to be the “front and center” of the global wellness industry.
