Gwyneth Paltrow Forgot That She Was In Spider-Man: Homecoming

It's hard to imagine how someone could completely forget that they were part of one of the most exciting films in 2017. However, that's exactly what happened to Gwyneth Paltrow, who couldn't remember ever being in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Paltrow was recently a guest on the first episode of Jon Favreau's Netflix series The Chef Show. When Paltrow asked what the series is about, Favreau revealed that he came up with the idea while they were working on Spider-Man. A confused Paltrow immediately states that she wasn't in the film but Favreau gently insists she was (chef Roy Choi even helpfully says "Homecoming" in case that would jog her memory). But Gwyneth, well... just watch the clip below.

In Paltrow's defense, all these Marvel movies can be pretty confusing because of all the secrecy. Perhaps she wasn't told that the scene she filmed with Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. was supposed to be in Avengers: Infinity War. Or maybe Paltrow has completely forgotten because the timeline in the Marvel Cinematic Universe can get rather complicated. Either way, it's great that she finally knows she was in Homecoming.

It is still unclear if Paltrow will reprise her role as Pepper Potts in the second Spider-Man movie but some believe that the character will continue showing up in future MCU films. Perhaps Marvel Studios should at least inform the Shakespeare In Love actress what movie she is working on to avoid any confusion.

Spider-Man: Far From Home, which may or may not feature Paltrow, is scheduled for release on July 2.
