Following the awards success of the Pinocchio animated film, Guillermo del Toro is now working on a new Frankenstein movie for Netflix, which will be his take on the classic Mary Shelley novel.
The project was announced to be in the works last year with Andrew Garfield, Oscar Isaac, and Mia Goth on board to star in the highly-anticipated movie.
However, it experienced pushback in its production start as a result of the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Now, as the project is finally set to begin filming soon, they have recruited a new actor to take over as the lead after one of the original stars dropped out in the aftermath of the delay.

Jacob Elordi to Play the Frankenstein Monster in the Guillermo del Toro Movie
Deadline has confirmed that Saltburn and Euphoria star Jacob Elordi is joining the cast of Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein movie. He will play the role of Frankenstein's monster.
Andrew Garfield was originally cast for the role, but he exited the project due to scheduling conflicts related to the strike delay.
In addition, Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, and Christian Convery were also cast to join Elordi, Isaac, and Goth in the ensemble.
Production is set to begin this coming February. Last year, del Toro shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account that he was doing location scouting in Glasgow.
Elordi's casting in the Netflix movie comes as he is receiving praises for his performances in Saltburn and Priscilla, both contenders at the current awards season.
He also stars in the hit HBO series Euphoria, which is set to begin filming its third season this year.
While some fans might be disappointed with Garfield's exit, Elordi is still an interesting casting choice for the role of Frankenstein's Monster since he has a tall stature.
His recent works also show that he could pull off unconventional characters like him.
However, with del Toro's vision behind the project, the new take we might see in the film might be more subversive than some of the adaptations that were done before.
The director might also have a particular reason in mind regarding his decision to cast Elordi for the role.
