Guardians of the Galaxy’s James Gun Weighs In On That Popular Galactus Theory

Sorry, everyone. Galactus isn't in any of the Guardians of the Galaxy Easter Eggs.

Last week, Marvel fans thought that they finally chanced upon one of the undiscovered Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 Easter Eggs when they spotted Galactus' home planet Galan on the holographic screen of the Collector (Benicio Del Toro) during his little Infinity Stone history lesson with Marvel's ragtag team of cosmic thugs-turned-heroes.

Now, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has taken to Twitter to debunk the Galactus fan theory, telling fans that no, the devourer of worlds is not in any of the collector scenes "in any way" at all.

It's such a shame that Galactus wasn't any part of the Guardians of the Galaxy Easter Eggs though. With Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe coming to an end, everyone's been looking forward to the next villain of the franchise, and a lot of fans think that Galactus would be fit the bill.

Not only is the villain a cosmic entity who consumes planets to stay alive but in the comics, he plays a huge role in the primary Marvel comic book continuity. Considering his massive size and his power, Galactus would be a great villain to introduce after Thanos, especially if Marvel were to build its Marvel Cosmic Universe.

We'll just have to wait and see whether Gunn would tease him in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 or in future Marvel Cosmic Universe movies.
