Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3: James Gunn Reinstatement Petition Gets 400K+ Signatures

People are still supporting James Gunn although the director has already been fired by Marvel and Disney. The petition asking for Gunn's reinstatement in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 already has more than 400,000 signatures.

Gunn was sacked from Vol. 3 over old tweets suggesting pedophilia last July. However, the director had several supporters, including the cast and crew of the film trilogy, who even released a statement confirming their support for Gunn. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough for Marvel and Disney, who stand firm in the decision. This led to some fans starting a Change.org petition asking the studios to bring Gunn back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As of writing, the petition has 402,546 signatures from individuals who believe that Gunn should direct Vol. 3. However, it is still unclear if Marvel and Disney will change their minds about the decision.

Most of the stars of the first Guardians of the Galaxy movies have already expressed their support for Gunn. Michelle Yeoh recently admitted that she was "horrified" that the director's past actions would be brought back and used against him.

Dave Bautista has been less graceful with his choice of words when it comes to the subject. The former WWE star repeatedly bashed Disney for their decision and refuses to back down. Unfortunately, this has led to speculations that Bautista's character could be written out of Vol. 3.

The film is currently on hold until the studios could find a suitable replacement for Gunn. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will reportedly still make use of Gunn's script.
