While Yondu's scene of sacrificing his life to save Peter Quill was an emotional and bittersweet moment, Marvel fans are yet to move on from the fact that the character is dead. Michael Rooker did an amazing performance as Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but it seems like fans would have to accept that he has already met his noble end.

Over on Twitter, a fan pleads to director James Gunn to find some way to bring back Yondu in the sequel. Reiterating what he has stated before, the character isn't coming back to life since it would basically just disregard his sacrifice in the film. So unless it's "some sort of prequel or flashback," Gunn wouldn't bring back Yondu. You can check out their exchange below.

Gunn has a similar answer when asked about it on Instagram, he won't bring Yondu back to life, because if a character has already died in his film, they will "likely stay dead." He also mentioned that he thinks "stakes are important."

On the other hand, the director previously revealed that he has "big plans" for Kraglin in the threequel. Following Yondu's footsteps, the Yaka arrow wielder might potentially have some flashback scenes with Rooker's character. So, maybe, fans will see him again in the upcoming movie.

For now, Gunn is working on The Suicide Squad which will be released in August 2021 while Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has not yet been given an official release date.
