Fans have been wondering if we'll ever get to see Adam Warlock in a Marvel Cinematic Universe flick. Interestingly, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 possibly teased on the character's impending arrival, and it wasn't just in the post-credits scene.
We already know that Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) is working on creating Adam after being humiliated by the Guardians. However, Adam may have been an ongoing project even before Star-Lord and the gang began working for the Sovereign. A Reddit user has pointed out that Adam's Karmic Staff is visible as the Guardians fight a huge monster in the opening sequence. Check it out below.

It's a great Easter Egg that completely went over our heads because of the awesome action sequence. There is a possibility that Adam will eventually take the Karmic Staff when he emerges from the birthing pod and is ordered to look for the Guardians. However, it is still unclear when the character will actually be introduced in the MCU.
There have been speculations that Adam will play an important part in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Unfortunately, the sequel has been put on hold after James Gunn was fired from the project. Although it is still possible that Gunn's screenplay will be used once a new director is hired, fans are skeptical about how the film will work without Gunn's creative input.
Marvel and Disney have not yet confirmed if they have found a new director for Vol. 3. Some reports suggest that Thor: Ragnarok's Taika Waititi is being considered for the sequel. However, there have been no official announcements yet on Waititi's possible involvement.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was supposed to begin production in August to meet a 2020 premiere. Unfortunately, it is still unclear when the film will be shot as the hunt for a new director continues.
