Guardians of the Galaxy to Get Attraction at Walt Disney World

The public may be focused on Disney's upcoming Star Wars Land, but there's another galactic franchise owned by the company that's going to have its own theme park.

There's been rumors going around that a Marvel expansion will be making its way to the main Southern California theme park. Now, theme park blog Walt Disney World News Today (h/t Cinema Blend) has reported that the rumors are now a fact. The Tower of Terror will be transformed into a new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction.

Based on the Twilight Zone theme, the Tower of Terror attraction exists both in Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim as well as Disney's Hollywood Studio in Florida. The ride brings passengers up in the air and then drops them into a free fall of about 61 meters.

The Guardians of the Galaxy attraction comes as part of Disney's California Adventure dedicated to Marvel.

Being the most noticeable landmarks in the park Disney World, the Tower of Terror is indeed an ideal spot to place a Marvel attraction. Most likely, the Tower of Terror will face some renovations for a Guardians-themed attraction that doesn't focus on gravity.

Marvel and Star Wars are among the most popular and successful franchises of Disney, and I have no doubt that the theme parks will be flocked by fans once construction is done. I wonder which one will have more visitors.
