Guardians of the Galaxy Theory Predicts Death of Major Character in Vol. 3

Excitement is already brewing for the third and supposedly final installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and just like the first two GOTG films, it's safe to assume at this point that there's a huge chance a major character will have his or her closure in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Now, an intriguing theory points to the demise of a fan-favorite character and as it turns out, the franchise may have been dropping us hints all these years that casual Marvel Cinematic Universe fans may not have noticed.

For starters, the original Guardians of the Galaxy title card featured a textured graphic that resembles Groot's wood. The sequel featured a color scheme similar to Yondu's blue skin and red fin. Both characters died in their respective films. Now, the official title graphic for the upcoming third GOTG film seemingly features a color scheme resembling Drax's skin. Could this mean that the fan-favorite Guardian could bid the MCU farewell in Vol. 3?

We've yet to get an official confirmation from James Gunn himself whether or not the theory is true but judging by the way the title cards were made to look, I don't think it's a mere coincidence that each graphic resembles a character's color scheme. It's also worth noting that Drax actor Dave Bautista has been heavily hinting over the last couple of months that he's set to exit the billion-dollar franchise after Vol. 3. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit cinemas on May 5, 2023.
