Dave Bautista is currently among the longest-tenured actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but after a successful stint as Drax the Destroyer in the billion-dollar franchise, the actor believes it's time for him to hang up his boots and end his Marvel career on a high note much like he did his professional wrestling career.

For months, the Guardians of the Galaxy star has been claiming that the third and final film in the saga will also mark the end of Drax the Destroyer. Still, a lot of fans find it hard to believe that the beloved Guardian is exiting the franchise but to Bautista's bewilderment, he finds the reaction quite surprising.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the star of Knock at the Cabin reaffirmed that he's on his way out of the MCU and said it shouldn't come as a shock to fans. He said: "I think, yeah, it’s weird, I don’t know why it’s news. I feel like it’s…so this is my seventh film as Drax, and my third 'Guardians', and it’s like our trilogy, and that’s kind of what we all signed up for, to do a trilogy. This will be the last version of our Guardians of the Galaxy."

I think we can all agree that Marvel Studios dropped the ball on Drax and while he remains a favorite amongst MCU diehards, the way he's been presented since day one is quite criminal, to say the least. Hopefully, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will finally give him his defining moment he's long been robbed because clearly, he's more than just a comic relief kind of character.

Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit cinemas on May 5, 2023.
