Guardians Of the Galaxy Star Chris Pratt Loves DC But Points Out One Flaw

Though a lot of comic book movie fans tend to choose sides between powerhouses like Marvel and DC, the directors, producers, crewmen and stars of both studios tend to show support for the competition without any malice.

One of these includes Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt who admits to being a fan of DC. Speaking in an interview with iO9, Pratt openly revealed that he enjoyed the films Warner Bros. was making for the budding DC Expanded Universe.

"I really like all the Warner Bros. movies," Pratt said. "I think they're really cool and I'm not a real tough critic on those movies."

There's only one thing that he'd like to change: The number of main characters in Suicide Squad.

"One of the flaws might have been they were introducing too many characters in Suicide Squad. They spent 10 minutes telling us why should we care about these characters, rather than creating trilogies for each character and convincing us to care about the characters," the Marvel star went on to explain.

Pratt then went on elaborating on Marvel's universe-building process.

"It's like hardwood," he described the MCU. "They grew it really slowly so it's strong. They didn't create The Avengers first. They did Iron Man. And they tested it to make sure it worked. Then they did [Iron Man II] and [Iron Man III], then they did Cap, and then they did Thor. And they created a thirst for these characters, and that's when they put them in The Avengers."

"It's really fucking hard to do," Pratt exclaimed, "And it's kind of a miracle that anyone's got it right. You know? So. I think it comes down to Kevin [Feige], his filmmakers, and ultimately, me, playing Star-Lord."

Marvel has built one of the strongest cinematic universes in Hollywood by building up the franchise slowly. While DC has a fair amount of catching up to do while it continues fumbling around with style, tone and a few cinematic mishaps, the DCEU is still at its early stages and many hope that it will finally be able to get on its feet like and grow like Marvel.

Right now all eyes are on Wonder Woman which releases on June 2, 2017.
