There's no denying that fans are currently caught up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe's multiversal stories but the cosmic side of things is shaping up just as well. Considering it's Gunn's last stint in the Marvel film franchise, fans are naturally curious as to what he has up his sleeve. Aside from Adam Warlock and the High Evolutionary, many are wondering if they can expect to see other cameos in the film and one of which is Harry Styles' MCU character Eros aka Starfox who made his official debut during the post-credits scene of Eternals.

Of course, being a cosmic entity himself, it would make a lot of sense for a character like Starfox to make an appearance in the film, especially with his obvious connections with the Mad Titan Thanos who shares a lot of history with the Guardians, most notably Gamora.

But before fans get their hopes up, James Gunn is already dismissing the potential cameo appearance by the One Direction singer. Speaking with Extra TV (via ScreenRant), Gunn said: "Nope! I’m setting the record straight. Starfox doesn’t pop up, nope."

As it stands, we still don't know which project Starfox will turn up next but Eternals pretty much established him as an important character. It would be safe to assume at this rate that Eros will end up being a major player in the franchise's upcoming phases.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits cinemas on May 5, 2023.
