Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Promo Art Teases the Return of Yondu

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is set to premiere on Disney+ this coming Christmas season (as the title obviously suggested) and it is expected to bridge the gap between the events of Thor: Love and Thunder and their solo movie return in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 next year. So far, the plot details regarding the special have been kept under wraps.

Now, it looks like we may have our first clue on what we will see in the upcoming special thanks to the official promotional art that was uncovered by MCU Facility which seemingly hints that we may be seeing the return of Yondu or he'll be involved in some capacity.

The evidence came as images such as "Yondu Ruined Christmas" and "Yondu Ruined X-Mas" can be found in the promotional art in the special alongside other images related to the team itself. Considering that Yondu's name is part of them, it does indicate that he might show up through flashbacks in the special.

There's also a chance that Yondu might only show up through easter eggs or mentioned in dialogues during the special. However, since it's going to be a Christmas special, a flashback appearance might make sense for Yondu to show up and there have been speculations before regarding his potential appearance in the special.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether we'll end up seeing Yondu in the special until Marvel makes an official announcement through the trailers or they'll let it become a surprise once the audience watches it this holiday season.

Let's just wait and see if Marvel and Disney+ will discuss more details about the special in the upcoming D23 expo that is set to be held next week.
