Guardians of the Galaxy Concept Art Shows More Comic-Accurate Star-Lord

Ever since 2014, Guardians of the Galaxy has become one of the more popular Marvel titles, and the comic version of Star-Lord has been redesigned to look a lot closer to Chris Pratt's onscreen version. Interestingly enough, the Star-Lord in the movie could have looked a lot closer to the version we have in the comics.

This concept art was shared by artist Charlie Wen, and it has Star-Lord in a blue outfit with a helmet that covers all of his head:

Granted, the trench coat must be something the director James Gunn requested, because in the comics, Star-Lord's outfit is a lot closer to a uniform.

With the Guardians' look in the comics originally a blue outfit, I was kind of wondering when we were going to get that with the movies. Rocket and Drax have switched over to blue duds in Vol. 2, but Star-Lord still opts to keep with the red we have from the first movie. Gamora, on the other hand, still prefers her clothes black.

After the whole fiasco with James Gunn, Marvel Studios has opted to push back Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. For now, the movie looks to be on hold as the studio scrambles to find someone who can replace Gunn. If it's any consolation for fans, the film will still make use of the script that Gunn had provided prior to his firing.

No release date has been set for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
