Did Abbott Elementary's Gregory shade a parent 'Deadpool-style' in the latest episode? To be fair, this wouldn't be the first time Greg used the documentary to his advantage. Here's what happened.
Gregory Throws Shade at Particular Abbott Elementary Parent 'Deadpool' Style
Abbott Elementary season 4 episode 5 titled Dad Fight highlights Gregory having to put up with a difficult parent from his class.
As commonly as Abbott teachers face parents' jealousy over their growing bond with their kids, Gregory is confronted in the episode by nitpicking the smallest things the father sees in class.
In this case, the so-called 'fight' began with a misunderstanding about a pen.
The dad prefers that Gregory doesn't provide any pencils to his kid, which pissed Gregory off by sarcastically mumbling to the camera, "Guess I'll give him some pens, then." This, of course, offended the dad in the funniest way possible.
The dad doesn't back down and tells Gregory, "You definitely said something to that camera. See, you think you're Deadpool!"
It's one of the pettiest fights ever, especially when Gregory follows suit with the dad's request for a 'fight' in front of the elementary school.
Then again, this isn't the first time Gregory gets misunderstood by a parental figure at Abbott Elementary.
Gregory Came a Long Way From the Man We Knew in Season 1
As much as Gregory is striving to become a school principal one day, he still has a long journey forward to stepping on that milestone in his career.
However, the more Abbott Elementary progresses, the more Gregory learns, too.
In this case, like the first parent incident in season 1, Gregory confided in Ms. Barbara Howard to understand how to deal with a parent who brings her kid to school later than scheduled.
At other times, Gregory is reminded he's the 'new' teacher compared to the Abbott faculty who have dealt with these children longer than he has.
As funny as the episode gets, the story pretty much resolves itself with a new lesson learned.
...Otherwise, Gregory should adapt how to 'shade' on camera without getting caught next time.
