Gotham Season 5 Episode Titles Confirm That Bane Is Coming To Town

Gotham is leaving nothing to chance with its final season. The Season 5 episode titles aren't being very subtle in announcing the arrival of DC supervillain Bane.

Bane hardly needs a formal introduction. The comic book villain is notorious for being the only man who has "broken the bat" in the Knightfall storyline. In addition to that, the character was portrayed by Venom actor Tom Hardy in Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. Not surprisingly, Bane is expected to the ultimate villain who will provide a fitting conclusion for Gotham Season 5.

SpoilerTV has revealed the titles for the first eight episodes of the Fox show's final season. The fifth episode Pena Dura might be a play at Peña Duro, the brutal prison where Bane spent most of his childhood and adult life.

If the fifth episode doesn't convince you, the eighth episode spells it out quite clearly. I Am Bane could be the episode where Bane finally comes to his own and becomes the "king" of Peña Duro. Alternatively, it could be the episode where the villain introduces himself to Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz).

There have been speculations about Bane's arrival in Gotham for some time. The series has reportedly been looking for a muscular male in his 30s to play "Eduardo Dorrance." There is little doubt that the show is looking for King Snake, a.k.a. Edmund Dorrance. He also happens to be Bane's famous father.

It has not yet been confirmed if Gotham Season 5 has already found its Bane or King Snake. Nevertheless, we can all expect to see these characters next year.

Gotham Season 5 is currently in production and is set to premiere in 2019.
