Gotham Knights: Supernatural's Misha Collins Joins CW Pilot as Harvey Dent

One of the upcoming DC shows that are currently in the works is The CW's Gotham Knights, which recently scored a pilot order. The potential series will center on a new set of heroes in Gotham City although it won't be a spin-off of Batwoman nor connected to the upcoming video game of the same name that is set to be released this year. Now, a CW veteran has been cast to play one of the popular villains in the Batman comics.

Supernatural star Misha Collins has joined the cast of Gotham Knights. He is set to play Harvey Dent, the district attorney of Gotham City who notoriously becomes the villainous Two-Face. The actor broke the news on Twitter in which he posted a photo of Aaron Eckhart's iteration in The Dark Knight along with a caption that referenced his iconic role of Castiel in Supernatural. You can check his tweet below:

The project hails from Batwoman writers Natalie Abrams, James Stoteraux, and Chad Fiveash. They also serve as executive producers alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, David Madden, and Danny Cannon (who will direct the pilot). Collins is joining the cast that already includes Fallon Smythe, Navia Robinson, Olivia Rose Keegan, Oscar Morgan, and Tyler DiChiara.

The logline of the project is described as: "In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors known as the Gotham Knights."

It is awesome that Collins is going to be part of the potential series since it's going to be his TV comeback a few years after Supernatural ended its run. It will also be very different from Castiel since he is going to play a villainous character assuming that the series will also go in that direction. It would be interesting to see if we'll hear more significant casting news about whether more well-known rogues' gallery characters will also be part of the series.
