New Arrowverse Series Justice U Starring David Ramsey in the Works at The CW

Even though Arrow ended its run in early 2020, David Ramsey's John Diggle still pops up in various Arrowverse shows such as The Flash, Supergirl, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, and Superman & Lois keeping up on the continuity with the parent series. Now, it looks like he is set to headline his own series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The CW is currently developing Justice U, a superhero drama series set in the Arrowverse, with Ramsey set to star reprising the role of John Diggle. Per the project's logline, "After spending years fighting alongside masked heroes, John Diggle embarks on a new mission to recruit five young metahumans to live undercover as freshmen at a prestigious university. There he will oversee their education and train them to become the heroes of tomorrow."

Michael Narducci (The Vampire Diaries) and Zoanne Clack (Grey’s Anatomy) are attached as the writers of the project and it has been quietly in the works for months. Ramsey will also direct the pilot should the network give a pilot order. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, David Madden, and Geoff Johns will serve as executive producers.

It is not surprising to hear that John Diggle will star in his own series since he kept on appearing in Arrowverse shows after Arrow ended its run which shows that the character still has a bigger future ahead. Now, we know what's the next big chapter for him. The idea for the potential series is very interesting especially since he has experience in being a hero and has worked with a lot of them. He would be a great mentor for the next generation of heroes who will be introduced in the Arrowverse. Let's just wait and see if the project will move forward.
