Gotham: Final Look at Joker is More Gollum than Joker

Cameron Monaghan's interpretation of the Joker in Gotham has gone through several transformations, from having his face torn off to simply just being pale. With the show set to end, his Clown Prince of Crime is due for one last transformation, and some photos have leaked showing us his final look… which kind of harkens to Gollum from the Lord of the Rings movies.

Check him out:

While some may say that he looks like a Whisperer from The Walking Dead, another image gives us a better overall feel of the character. It even comes with the signature purple suit that we haven't really seen fully realized before:

We don't really know why the Joker would end up looking like this, but I have a feeling that it's going to harken to his origin in the comics where he falls into a vat of acid. Gotham has taken a lot of liberties when it comes to the origin of their villains, and having Jeremiah Valeska actually fall in a vat of acid and come out like this could be a neat homage to the Joker's comic roots.

So far the series has been very restrictive when it comes to bringing the full Joker to the show, but with Gotham finally ending, we can see the Clown fully realized like Batman will be. I have to say, a lot of people have been impressed with what Monaghan has brought to the table, and everyone can't wait to see him sendoff the Joker for the finale.

Gotham airs every Thursday on Fox.
