GOT7 Jinyoung spoke about how similar he is to his Yumi’s Cells 2 character, Yoo Babi.
After the success of Yumi’s Cells 2, Yoo Babi takes over the spotlight and comforts Kim Yumi, who struggles after her breakup with Goo Woong.
In the series, the K-pop idol is Kim Yumi’s co-worker, who grows fond of her.

GOT7 Jinyoung Shares Similarities He Has to Yoo Babi
Jinyoung recently sat for an interview with GQ Korea for the magazine’s July issue. He shocked his fans when he disclosed that he once considered leaving the entertainment industry.
Fortunately, he stayed and was able to breathe life into his Yumi’s Cells character, which he called someone with kind kid syndrome.
To explain his statement, the GOT7 member told GQ Magazine that Yoo Babi has a compulsion to do well for others. Thus, it led him to say he has that kind of syndrome.
The My Youth singer added that there are a lot of things that could be misunderstood if he interferes with his character’s actions.

“Although this doesn’t come out in the drama, if you look at Babi’s story in the original webtoon, he says, ‘I thought I just had to blindly be nice.’ That’s the point where I felt that Babi had ‘kind kid syndrome,’” he went on.
With that, he confessed that he has a similar compulsion which he developed when he moved to Seoul alone at the age of 17.
Per the idol, he had no one to rely on. However, he survived the way Yoo Babi did. He detailed how he greeted everyone as much as possible and spoke kindly to them.
GOT7 Jinyoung Tends To Be Perfectionist
GOT7 Jinyoung took his time to share another trait he has, saying that he is also a perfectionist.
According to psychiatrist Dr. Oh Eun Young, people who procrastinate tend to be perfectionists. For Jinyoung, he called himself a “careless perfectionist” since he always misses one of two things, although he thinks something is already perfect.
The magazine then asked him what he wants to be perfect these days, and the idol-turned-actor shared he aims to smoothly make his next project.
“They say there are some actors who don’t monitor [their work], but I wasn’t born like that with regards to that aspect. I always monitor on set and the final result. It’s hard. It’s uncomfortable and feels like confrontation?” he went on.
Jinyoung currently makes people go head over heels through his visuals and acting skills in Yumi’s Cells 2.
