According to KDramaStars, Gong Yoo has a total net worth of $7 million this year. The entertainment news outlet claimed that the K-drama star earns around $65,000 per episode in most of his projects.

Gong Yoo has earned a significant amount of money from his television projects. Most, if not all, fans are aware that the Busan-born actor made his K-drama debut via SBS' Hello My Teacher in 2005.

Following that, Gong Yoo appeared in the romance melodrama called One Fine Day in 2006. He was, then, cast in MBC's Coffee Prince, which opened numerous doors for him and solidified his status as a Hallyu superstar.

As if that is not enough, Gong Yoo also starred in Kim Eun Sook's Guardian: The Loney and Great God in December 2016, where he played the goblin. The said K-drama series was a massive hit that earned Gong Yoo a Best Actor award at Baeksang Awards for his outstanding acting performance.

Meanwhile, Gong Yoo shocked everyone when he appeared in a scene in Squid Game. In the K-drama's first episode, the character of Lee Jung Jae was approached by a salesman (Gong Yoo), who challenged him to play a ddakji or paper flip game.

Lee Jung Jae's character received several slaps from Gong Yoo for losing numerous times before he finally got the prize. After beating Gong Yoo, Lee Jung Jae's character was invited to become one of the official participants in the Squid Game.

Aside from Gong Yoo and Lee Jung Jae, viewers praised the production for being able to bring Park Hae Soo and Lee Byung Hun together. Squid Game can be streamed on Netflix.
