Gong Yoo is courted to star in an upcoming Netflix K-drama alongside Seo Hyun Jin.

According to TV Daily, the top star is set to have his on-screen comeback after being in talks to star in the original series titled Trunk.

Gong Yoo to Play Alongside Seo Hyun Jin in Netflix’s Trunk

With this, Gong Yoo’s agency, Management SOOP confirmed that the actor is selected to play the male lead of the upcoming series and is “positively reviewing the offers.”

The same goes for the actress, saying that Seo Hyun Jin is offered to play one of the main characters.

As for the forthcoming Netflix series, it will be helmed by Kim Gyu Tae, the director behind the hit K-dramas Our Blues, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, It’s Okay, That’s Love, and Live. Meanwhile, he will be working together with Hwarang screenwriter Park Eun Young.

Trunk is based on the novel of the same name that focuses on arranged marriage service agency called NM.

If Gong Yoo officially accepts the offer, he will be playing music producer Han Jung Won who doesn't believe in marriage.

Interestingly, the upcoming series will be Gong Yoo’s return to the small screen after The Silent Sea and his cameo in Squid Game back in 2021.
