Based on the gaps between the show’s previous seasons, it’s possible to predict a release date window for when fans can finally get to see Saichi Sugimoto and Asirpa’s adventure continue in the harsh and snowy Hokkaido.
Golden Kamuy Season 5 Release Date Predictions
Since the anime’s first season aired in April 2018, Golden Kamuy has quickly become a popular series thanks to its historical Hokkaido setting, coupled with how it puts the spotlight on Ainu culture.
Thanks in part to the anime’s success, the manga has become a bestseller with over 24 million copies in circulation.
Even though the manga ended in April 2022, the anime continued to get new episodes, as the show’s production committee is set on making it a complete adaptation.
Thus, it’s no surprise that Golden Kamuy season 5 was confirmed shortly after the fourth season’s final episode. Interestingly, there was no word on a release date at the time.
Looking back at the release schedule of previous seasons, the first and second were released with only a three-month-long gap.
Since then, it has taken two years for new seasons to come out. If this will also be the case for season 5, it will likely premiere in 2025.
Specifically, a mid-2025 release date window is likely, as the fourth season ended in June 2023. Thus, it’s a good bet that we’ll see the anime return in spring or summer 2025.

The fifth season may already be in the works, but it’s not clear which studio is working on it, especially as the show has two studios.
Golden Kamuy’s first three seasons were produced by Geno Studio, an anime studio best known for its work on Shine On! Bakumatsu Bad Boys! and one episode of Disney’s Star Wars: Visions.
Meanwhile, the fourth season was produced by Brain’s Base, the studio behind To Your Eternity and In/Spectre.
For now, there’s no word on whether Brain’s Base is returning, but it will likely be back as there’s no word yet on a replacement studio.

What can be said for certain is that Golden Kamuy season 5 will be the last season, with the show covering the manga’s final arc.
