Following the huge success of Godzilla vs. Kong in early 2021, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures worked on a sequel titled Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire which will follow up on the events of the epic MonsterVerse showdown.
However, this time around, the two Titans are teaming up together against a new colossal threat that may challenge their existence and humankind on planet Earth as well.
There's a lot of anticipation for the film since the audience is ready to buckle up again for more giant monster action and they're interested to see how the two Titans' team-up will fare well after being enemies in the previous entry.
Now, we finally have our very first look at the next MonsterVerse event.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Releases First Official Trailer
Warner Bros. has released the official trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire which gave us our first look at the next epic showdown in the MonsterVerse.
Based on the footage, it looks like the majority of the film is going to be set in the Hallow Earth where Kong is now ruling and living a more prosperous life with the other Titans and creatures including a baby Kong.
We also saw glimpses of the returning characters played by Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry, who were both part of the ensemble of the previous film, as well as franchise newcomer Dan Stevens.
They also introduced the new threat that Godzilla and Kong will face off in the film, Scar King, a giant orangutan-like Titan who seems to have a contentious history with Kong in the past.
The trailer ended with the two titular Titans teaming up together during an epic battle. Unlike the previous film, they are no longer at odds with each other as they are on the same side of the fight.
This is an exciting first look for fans since it suggests that it is going to be another fun experience at a movie theater and it will be yet again an epic monster action showdown that the franchise has become known for.
Whether it will continue to defy logic and physics or not, hopefully, it will still be an entertaining crowd-pleasing film that delivers the action that the audience will be looking for and introduces an interesting new lore in the expanding MonsterVerse.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is slated for release in theaters on April 12, 2024.
