The first trailer for Godzilla vs Kong might be tearing the internet apart on who people should root for but there's a bigger problem to worry about. The teaser may have confirmed that Mechagodzilla is coming to the MonsterVerse.
If you've seen the trailer for Godzilla vs Kong, there's a good chance you noticed that it mainly focused on the giant ape. For instance, the teaser showed the major changes in Kong since what happened in Kong: Skull Island.
Interestingly, some fans have pointed out that Godzilla is being depicted as the bad guy in the movie. After all, it looks like the monster was unprovoked when he attacked the ship that was carrying Kong. On the other hand, some have pointed out that there's a bigger threat in the trailer.
Early on in the teaser, there is a glimpse at a monster rampaging through a city and a closer look seems to confirm that it is a robotic Godzilla. Interestingly, this is around the same time that the line, "We need Kong" is said.
Another scene that drops a hint at Mechagodzilla features Ren Serizawa standing in front of a display that shows the robotic monster.
Although it has not yet been confirmed whether Mechagodzilla will show up in Godzilla vs Kong, there is a possibility that the monster will eventually appear to go up against Mecha-King Ghidora, who was teased in the film Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
Godzilla vs Kong will premiere in selected theaters worldwide and on HBO Max on March 26.
