Godzilla: King of Monsters Gets a New Poster

Yesterday saw the drop of the new trailer for Godzilla: King of Monsters, and we got a good look at all the upcoming Kaiju that will be clashing with Godzilla. Just in, director Mike Dougherty has shared with us a new poster for the film which pits Goji front and center.

Check it out:

The poster also has Millie Bobby Brown's character front and center, and though we really don't know much about her in the film, I have a feeling that she has some kind of special ability that will allow her to connect with the monsters. We see her touching Mothra in the first trailer, and she has some kind of moment with Godzilla in the latest preview.

I'll admit, though the second trailer does give us a better look at all the other monsters, it doesn't hold a candle to the first one. With giant monsters finding their way in theaters every other month, it was kind of refreshing to have a trailer use classical music—specifically Clair de Lune by Debussy. This latest trailer just looks like any other standard monster movie.

Following the global success of "Godzilla" and "Kong: Skull Island" comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures' and Legendary Pictures' cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action-adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance.

Catch Godzilla: King of Monsters in theaters May 31, 2019.
