Gods’ Games We Play finally premiered, and soon after, listings for the anime’s Blu-rays were shared. This is significant as the Blu-ray and DVD release details revealed the Gods’ Games We Play anime’s official episode count.
It may not be the longest anime, but fans will at least enjoy watching this show until the end of the spring 2024 season this June.
Gods’ Games We Play: Spring 2024’s New Fantasy Game Anime
Spring 2024 is another big season as it features the return of popular isekai anime such as KonoSuba and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation.
At first glance, Gods’ Games We Play might seem like an isekai. After all, the game in the title may imply that it’s another one of those MMO-inspired anime such as Sword Art Online.
That’s not the case though, as this new anime has a high-stakes game premise, meaning it’s more in line with shows such as Kakegurui and Death Parade.
Its story follows Fay Theo Philus, humanity’s representative in the “Play of the Gods,” a competition devised by the gods of the series’ world.
In this game, participants must get 10 wins so they can be granted a wish. Since the game began though, there has yet to be a human winner.
The protagonist Fay is the next to participate, and he has racked up three straight victories, giving him a good shot of winning. He is also joined in the game by Leoleshea, a former goddess.

God’s Games We Play Episode Count Revealed in Blu-ray Listing
While the series did not reveal its episode count via its social media platforms, a listing on the anime’ website for the upcoming Blu-ray and DVD release confirmed how many episodes season 1 will have.
Gods’ Games We Play is currently confirmed to have 13 episodes. The show’s first Blu-ray volume will include the first six episodes while the second volume will feature episodes 7 to 13.
In Japan, volume 1 will be released on July 24, 2024. Meanwhile, volume 2 will be released on August 28, 2024.

Where to Watch the Gods’ Games We Play Anime
Fans can watch the Gods’ Games We Play anime on Crunchyroll in the US and other select regions. The first episode was released on April 1, with new episodes set to be released on the platform weekly.
The show is also special as it has a simuldub streaming release, meaning the English dub version is released alongside the original Japanese version every week.
