God of War Director Cory Barlog Pitches a Mandalorian Game

Cory Barlog had proven himself a modern gaming legend when he revamped God of War, and though he's currently working on the sequel, he does have an idea of a game based on Disney+'s The Mandalorian.

Barlog pitched his idea on Twitter:

Barlog also followed it up with a post that said, "… And by a great single-player I mean a strong focus on character development with relatable human triumphs, losses + seemingly impossible decisions to wrestle with… Not just shooting, but surviving - both physically and emotionally. though I would hope the shooting would be fun."

Though EA has promised to bring us more Star Wars content, the only games we know that are incoming are the sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order as well as the LEGO Star Wars reboot. Some are having their fingers crossed that Disney's Investor's Day this week will bring news, but it's possible that video games won't be falling under Disney's main concern when it comes to the franchise.

Either way, Barlog does seem to be thinking what a lot of other fans are suggesting. With the wild west nature of the show, you could say that a Mandalorian game would just be Red Dead Redemption in space. Slap the Star Wars brand on it, and you have another major hit on your hands. Hopefully, there are some elements from the canceled Project Ragtag and 1313 that can make it to the game—if EA should decide to greenlight it.

For now, the latest Star Wars game is Squadrons, and it can be played on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Catch The Mandalorian Season 2 now on Disney+.
