Comic book fans have long been frustrated with the way Warner Bros. and DC Films are handling Henry Cavill and close to a decade since he made his first flight as Superman, the British star's status in the DC Extended Universe still remains a huge mystery. We still don't know if the supposed Man of Steel sequel will still happen and quite frankly, time is running out which is why most people would rather see him make the jump to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

There have been rumors circulating online that Henry is actually MCU-bound and the obvious role for him would be Captain Britain. We reported last week that the star of Netflix's The Witcher even met with Marvel Studios representatives in London, presumably to discuss a potential project for him but that remains unconfirmed. Other rumors suggest that he is set to play Hercules in Thor: Love and Thunder.

But what if Cavill actually becomes a mutant in the MCU? Digital artist @britedit unveiled a sick artwork on Instagram depicting him as Scott Summers aka Cyclops complete with a comic-accurate look. I gotta say, Cavill would be an odd choice to play the iconic X-Men character but he looks badass nonetheless. Check it out here:

I'm still hopeful that Henry will make his way back to the DCEU because let's face it, no MCU role is bigger than the Man of Steel unless Marvel Studios has plans of casting him as Wolverine, something that will probably never happen. Warner Bros. seriously needs to get their act straight and do what's best for their superhero film franchise.

Meanwhile, Henry Cavill is set to return for The Witcher Season 2.
