Glass Onion: Rian Johnson Teases More Knives Out Sequels

There is little doubt that Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is already getting a lot of buzz since its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and it looks like the movie is going to be a huge hit later this year. So does this mean we could get another murder mystery in the future? Director Rian Johnson has just teased the possibility of a third Knives Out project and Daniel Craig is eager to continue playing Benoit Blanc!

Rian Johnson recently spoke to Total Film where he admitted that he is eager to start working on a Glass Onion sequel right away.

"I had for a while thought that maybe I should do something else first," Johnson said. "But the God’s honest truth is, I had so much fun making this one, and the creative challenge of figuring out a third movie that’s completely different from both this one and the first one – right now, that’s the most interesting creative challenge to me. So I might just dive in and see what we come up with."

This is great news for fans who loved the first film and are anticipating what will happen in Glass Onion. Not surprisingly, even Daniel Craig is raring to go and ready to return as Benoit Blanc as soon as possible.

"It might be [the next thing I do]," Craig said on a Glass Onion sequel. "I don’t know," he added. "It depends on how quick [Johnson] is."

The second Knives Out film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and brings back Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc. The new cast members include Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista. Ethan Hawke, Natasha Lyonne, Hugh Grant, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will also appear in the film.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will get a limited theatrical release on November 23, 2022. The film will stream on Netflix on December 23, 2022.
