Queendom is returning for season 2, and Mnet has recently announced the main host who will lead the show.

On January 25, the production team of Queendom revealed that Girls’ Generation leader and main vocalist Taeyeon would host the program’s second installment.

Mnet acknowledges how significant Taeyeon is in the Kpop industry and as a major representative of Kpop around the world.

Since debuting with Girls’ Generation in 2007, Taeyeon has become a musician who has showcased her unrivaled presence as a girl group member and solo artist in several ways.

Taeyeon’s majestic presence was proved with her stable and loyal fan base not only in South Korea but all around the world.

According to the production team of Queendom season 2, Taeyeon is expected to play an important role in guiding the junior girl groups as a senior artist who has actively proven herself worthy of the title “vocal queen.”

Queendom season 2 to start filming next month

After airing its first installment in 2019, Queendom is now returning for season two with another set of female idol groups.

Queendom season 1 featured Park Bom, AOA, Mamamoo, Lovelyz, Oh My Girl, and (G)I-DLE. The show is a comeback competition amongst the six girl group performers to “identify the true number one” when all of them release their singles simultaneously.

The Mnet program ran for ten weeks. It premiered on August 29, 2019 and concluded on October 31, 2019. At the end of Queendom, the winning team had a one-of-a-kind comeback show featuring its new release and past hit songs.

Mamamoo became the program’s winner and returned with the tenth mini-album Travel through a comeback show on November 3, 2020.

Meanwhile, Queendom season 2 is set to start filming next month with Taeyeon as the main host. The list of participants for Queendom season 2 has not yet been revealed.

However, as the host is now announced, it is not possible that the full lineup of girl groups who will participate in the program will see the light in the following days.

Taeyeon to return with 3rd full album

Just last week, Taeyeon delighted global fans with the pre-released digital single “Can’t Control Myself” as part of her upcoming 3rd full album, INVU. The said album will be unveiled on February 14, which will mark a lovely Valentine’s Day gift for her fans.
