Gina Carano’s Upcoming TV Appearance Will Still Air After Reportedly Being Pulled by Disney

Gina Carano has already been making headlines last year for her feisty and no holds barred remarks about certain socio-political issues but her social media tirades would prove to be detrimental to her blossoming career as Lucasfilm announced last February that the former mixed martial arts fighter has been let go of her Star Wars contract and will no longer be making an appearance on the third season of The Mandalorian where she played Cara Dune.

Apparently, before her firing, Gina was able to film an upcoming appearance on Season 6 of Bear Grylls' National Geographic Series Running Wild with Bear Grylls, a commitment she did while still under her Lucasfilm contract. However, rumors swirled last month that Disney has canceled the episode she was a part of and while the House of Mouse declined to give a comment, fans are speculating that the company is in fact responsible for it being pulled from the slate.

Now, it turns out that Gina's appearance on the hit reality-survival show will still air despite initial rumors of it being canceled by Disney, and Bear may have had something to do with it. Taking to her Twitter page, the former Cara Dune star excitingly announced that her episode will premiere on May 10th on Nat Geo.

Carano didn't exactly go into detail about how everything transpired and it remains unclear if Disney had a say about it. She wrote: "Want to hear something cool? Just so happens you WILL be able to see my @beargrylls episode on @natgeo after all!! Bear is a real one. I'm so glad you're going to get to see it. My heart is so full." Check it out here.

It's safe to assume that this sudden "change of heart" from Disney is just the company trying to avoid further backlash from Gina's avid supporters. Still, we don't know for sure whether or not the company has anything to do with the episode being pulled from television in the first place but they have long been accused of being politicking for a number of years now so it isn't so surprising, I guess.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian's third season will begin production this April.
