G.I. Joe Spin-Off Snake Eyes Confirms Production Start With Cast Photo

It has been a long time since we got any updates on the planned Snake Eyes movie. Luckily, it looks like the G.I. Joe spin-off film is finally moving forward. It has just been confirmed that the movie is now in production and the first cast photo has just been revealed.

The cast photo was shared by the official G.I. Joe Twitter account. Check it out below.

The photo features Henry Golding, who will take on the titular role as well as Andrew Koji, who will play Storm Shadow. They are joined by director Robert Schwentke and stunt coordinator Kenji Tanigaki. Iko Uwais, who was previously confirmed to play Hard Master is also in the photo. Likewise, actors Takehiro Hira and Haruka Abe pose with the crew.

This is exciting news for G.I. Joe fans who are already looking forward to the Snake Eyes standalone film. Although the details about the film are not yet clear, it could follow the origins of the character when he and Storm Shadow were still being trained by Hard Master.

Some fans have wondered about how well the film will be done considering that Golding doesn't appear to have a martial arts background unlike his co-stars. Nevertheless, there is a possibility that the Crazy Rich Asians star has been training prior to production and he could surprise us later this year.

Snake Eyes is currently being filmed in Japan. It is scheduled for release on October 23.
