(G)I-DLE reached a new milestone with TOMBOY after the track officially hit 200 million views on YouTube.
In 2022, Cube Entertainment announced the release of (G)I-DLE’s studio album, I Never Die, which included TOMBOY as its lead single. It became the girl group’s first album since Soojin exited the group.
Nearly a year after its release, TOMBOY scored a new record for the group.

(G)I-DLE’s TOMBOY Hits 200 Million Views
On Jan. 16 at 3:30 a.m., (G)I-DLE’s music video for TOMBOY officially reached 200 million views on YouTube.
After reaching the mark, it ultimately became the group’s first music video to achieve the feat on its channel. It took the song 307 days and nine hours to surpass the mark following its release on march 14, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. KST.

(G)I-DLE previously garnered 200 million views with LATATA. However, the number was a combination of the views from its official YouTube channel and 1theK’s channel.
Aside from its recent feat, TOMBOY became the girl group’s fifth music video to surpass 100 million views in April 2022, following LATATA, Oh my god, HANN and LION. The same song achieved perfect all-kill last year, making (G)I-DLE to become the first group to set the record in 2022.
(G)I-DLE Wants More After TOMBOY’s Success
After (G)I-DLE savored success with TOMBOY, the members appeared in a pictorial and interview with DAZED (via MoneyS) in which they talked about the song’s success.
“I think we experienced a syndrome this time. I hope that we won’t stop in the future either. I want to keep moving forward,” Soyeon said.
Shuhua then wished the members to see nothing but good things because they are valuable and the group has “extraordinary talent” together.
(G)I-DLE will soon mark its fifth anniversary. Ahead of its milestone, the group dropped its mini album, I Love, in October. It became its first music project to appear on the Billboard 200, with its first track Nxde gaining popularity globally.
