Ghostbusters 3’s Character Breakdown Details The Film’s New Leads

Ghostbusters fans were taken by surprise last month when Ivan Reitman's son, Jason Reitman, announced that he'd be working on a Ghostbusters movie set in the same universe as the original film. A few moments after Ghostbusters 3's announcement was made, Columbia Pictures dropped a brand new teaser for the film. Dark and exciting, the teaser added so much hype to the announcement, making fans forget about the box office flop that was the Ghostbusters 2014 reboot.

Now, as fans wait for more details about Ghostbusters 3, a new character breakdown for the movie has made its way to HN Entertainment, detailing the personality of some of the film's leads. Ghostbusters 3 would feature four different leads (two girls and two boys) investigating the secrets of their small town. The character breakdown gives us a look at two of these characters.

UNNAMED (LEAD BOY 2) To play 12 years old. Slender, pale, dark hair, piercing blue eyes, aquiline features, high cheekbones, withdrawn. He's prodigious — bright, witty, stubborn, and remains playful in spite of hardship. He is also a brilliantly quick thinker under pressure, is at ease with technology, and has a high facility for problem-solving.

UNNAMED (LEAD GIRL 2): To play 13 years old. Fun-loving, a bit of an airhead. Always curious, haunted, charmed, dazed.

Based on the description, it seems like Ghostbusters 3 is going to be much like Netflix's Stranger Things, except that it's going to involve only a handful of kids and that it's going to be set in the same universe as the first Ghostbusters movie. Not only that, but Ernie Hudson has confirmed that the original cast members are going to be part of the film, though Egon Spengler will only be there in spirit.

What exciting times we live in.

Ghostbusters 3 is set to release sometime 2020.
