Get Out Director Jordan Peele Announces His Next Horror Film 'Us'

Get Out director/writer Jordan Peele has announced his next horror film with a poster that reveals its title: Us. On top of the poster reads, "A new nightmare from the mind of Academy Award winner Jordan Peele."

It's also being reported that Lupita Nyong'o (Black Panther), Elisabeth Moss (Handmaids Tale), and Winston Duke (Black Panther) are in talks to star in Us.

Peele previously talked about the next film he would work on after GetOut. Here's what he told THR:

"One thing I know is that this is genre, and playing around with the thriller, horror, action, fun, genre of intrigue is my favorite. That's my sweet spot. So I think tonally it should resembleGet Out. That said, I want to make a completely different movie. I want to address something different than race in the next one."

When Peel was asked what he would do next, he admitted that it would be hard to top Get Out:

"What do I do next? How do I top[GetOut]?And you know, and I think it's important to focus on stories that are true to me. I go, when writingGet Out, my sort of mantra is or was, ‘Let's write my favorite film I haven't seen yet.' So I think it's easy to get sort of bogged down in ‘how does this compare to the first one, how does that compare?' When all is said and done, my next film, I am currently writing it and I'll direct for Universal this year, I'm just trying to entertain myself again."

I'm definitely looking forward to Peele's next horror film. Get Out was one of the best horror films I've seen, and although we still don't know any story details about the next film, I'm sure that it would also be compelling.

Us is set to release in theaters on March 15, 2019.
