Get Out Actor Daniel Kaluuya Compares Black Panther To Game Of Thrones

Though audiences may not be familiar with Daniel Kaluuya, they have seen him in one episode of Black Mirror, and he plays the lead in Jordan Peele's hit, Get Out. Kaluuya, like a handful of prominent black actors, has been cast in Marvel's Black Panther, and he shares his thoughts on the film.

In an interview with GQ, Kaluuya said:

"This is an African blockbuster, bruv. This is like Game of Thrones. This is crazy. And Ryan Coogler is just, man dem. He's like us! He's a normal dude, in a Golden State hat and a Tupac T-shirt directing the whole set. It's the most beautiful thing to see."

Though Kaluuya doesn't go into detail about what makes BP like GoT, fans can only assume that he's alluding to the power play that will take place on who will be the rule over Wakanda — not the intense blood and nudity that GoT is best-known for. You can only expect that from Marvel Netflix.

Black Panther will be the first black hero to have his own film in the MCU. Granted black heroes have showed up in past films like Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and War Machine (Don Cheadle), they've only been playing second fiddle to the likes of Captain America and Iron Man. Luke Cage can be considered as the first black hero introduced in the Cinematic Universe, but who knows when the movies will ever start acknowledging the TV world.

Black Panther follows T'Challa who, after the events of "Captain America: Civil War," returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T'Challa's mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.

Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler and stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, and Forest Whitaker. The movie comes out on Feb. 16, 2018.
