George R.R. Martin Drops Update on The Winds of Winter, House of the Dragon Season 2

There is little doubt that people can't stop talking about the latest episode of House of the Dragon. So it's no surprise that George R.R. Martin is feeling proud about the Game of Thrones prequel. To celebrate the show's success, the A Song of Ice and Fire author shared an update on The Winds of Winter as well as House of the Dragon Season 2.

George R.R. Martin recently posted a new entry on his blog to heap praise on Paddy Considine's amazing performance as King Viserys I Targaryen in House of the Dragon. In addition to that, Martin shared some interesting details about the time jumps and shed some light on what really happened to Daeron Targaryen.

Once again, Martin made sure to share an update on the one project that everyone is waiting for. "Right now, Ryan Condal’s focus is on HOT D season two, and mine is on THE WINDS OF WINTER," Martin wrote.

It's not exactly what people have been hoping to hear but it's still a hopeful update considering that people have been worried that Martin has completely pushed the book aside for other projects.

It will still be a long wait for The Winds of Winter but fans remain hopeful about the book. After all, people are still hoping that the novels will provide a better outcome compared to what went down in Game of Thrones. With that in mind, let's just hope that Martin is close to finishing Book 6 of A Song of Ice and Fire.

In the meantime, it looks like Ryan Condal has his hands full with House of the Dragon Season 2. After several executive producers have left the series, Condal will have to tighten up his writing team for the second season.

The latest episode of House of the Dragon is now available on HBO Max. House of the Dragon Episode 9 is titled The Green Council and is set to premiere on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at 9:00 PM EST.
