George Lucas Watched Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Here's What He Thinks

The Star Wars creator has shared his thoughts about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

During the Press Conference at Lucasfilm in San Francisco, California on Friday, director Gareth Edwards discussed the film along with Kathleen Kennedy and the stars of the movie. According to Comicbook.com, Edwards was pulled away for an "important phone call" from George Lucas.

During his half-an-hour phone call with Edwards, Lucas siad that he will "cherish and take to my grave."

"George was always really good at mixing genres together and creating this mythical story that happened to have robots in it," Edwards said.

It's good to know that the creator of Star Wars himself gave the official seal of approval for Rogue One. It sounds like Lucas love Rogue One more than last year's Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The rest of the press who saw 28 minutes of the film seemed to like it as well. You can read about their thoughts here.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit theaters on December 16, 2016.
