George Lucas Personally Named New Character in The Mandalorian Season 2

There is little doubt that the new characters who were introduced in The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 3 were some of the coolest that have been featured in the Disney+ series. However, it looks like one of them is just a little cooler than the rest. It has just been revealed that one of Bo-Katan Kryze's companions was actually named by Star Wars creator himself George Lucas.

In Chapter 11: The Heiress, Mando finally got to meet some Mandalorians who were led by Bo-Katan. It was revealed that Sasha Banks was playing Koska Reeves while Simon Kassianides portrayed Axe Woves.

Not surprisingly, Kassianides didn't waste time in sharing his excitement about being a part of the Star Wars series. The actor immediately shared photos of his character on his Instagram account along with an interesting revelation. Make sure to swipe through the post to see all the images below.

"Meet Axe Woves. Mandalorian. Created by @jonfavreau and @dave.filoni Directed in episode three of season two by @brycedhoward in @themandalorian. Made to look way cooler than I am by stunt man @kofi_stunts And...according to @jonfavreau and @dave.filoni the character's name was created on set by George Lucas himself when he visited one day," Kassianides wrote.

That certainly sounds like a name that Lucas would come up with and we're thrilled to discover that the Star Wars creator was involved in bringing these characters to life. Hopefully, we'll get to learn more awesome things that Lucas did when he visited the Mandalorian set.

The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 3 is currently streaming on Disney+.
