George Lucas Has Seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and "Really Liked It"

George Lucas, the creator of the Star Wars franchise, has already seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the first of the saga that he's not directly involved with, after he sold Lucasfilm and its properties to Disney in 2012.

"He really liked it," Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy told THR.

Lucas is one of the first to see the completed cut of the film outside the cast and crew.

Lucas will attend both premieres of the film, in Los Angeles, California and London, England, later this month as a special guest.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Lucas said in an interview that the new film strays from his original vision, so it's good to hear that he said something positive about it.

The film will hit U.S. theaters on Dec. 18.
