Geoff Johns Will Write and Produce Green Lantern Corps Movie

He might be leaving his position as DC Comics COO but Geoff Johns is not done working on these classic heroes. With his new position, Johns will be busier than ever trying to make the DCEU better after Justice League flopped at the box office. Thanks to his new deal, he will now write and produce the movie adaptation of Green Lantern Corps, a franchise he has plenty of experience with.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Johns will write the screenplay for this Green Lantern reboot, which he will also produce. This is part of his new deal with Warner Bros. and DC, which forced the long-time writer to step down from his CCO position. Jim Lee will now be DC's CCO.

Johns made his name in comics by writing Green Lantern comics, which quickly became one of DC's best-selling and most acclaimed titles at the time. His success with the title did lead to a long stint on Justice League during the New 52. Johns was also responsible for the acclaimed DC Universe Rebirth one-shot.

Green Lantern Corps won't be the first DC movie he will be writing since he will also receive a credit for co-writing the Wonder Woman 2 script, which he will also produce. With this new deal, expect him to write and produce even more DC movies in the future, so let's hope the next batch of DC movies do better.
