Gamora is definitely one of the more interesting and compelling characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which is why it came as a huge shock to a lot of fans when the fan-favorite Guardian of the Galaxy was killed off in Avengers: Infinity War by his own adoptive father Thanos. Of course, most of you are aware by now that the Gamora who exists in the current MCU continuity is the Gamora from 2014, the year we were first introduced to the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, shortly after her involvement in Endgame's final battle, Star-Lord's love interest went missing and it'll most likely be the focal point of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Speaking of the James Gunn-directed film, it looks like Zoe Saldana will be looking closer to Gamora's comic book counterpart thanks to one minor change the film's makeup crew did to her face. Taking to Instagram, Saldana posted a selfie while her Gamora makeup was getting done and the first thing you'll notice is the change in her eyeshadow. In her previous outings in the MCU, Gamora wore a much darker eyeshadow as opposed to the yellow one she has now. Check it out here:

It looks like Marvel will be giving Gamora a look that is more faithful to the comics and here's to hoping they'll actually give the character her iconic white armor. Meanwhile, it'll be interesting to see how 2014 Gamora's character will develop in GOTG 4 and in future MCU films especially now that she has no recollection of her future self who died in Vormir.

The MCU's third Guardians of the Galaxy film is scheduled to hit cinemas on May 5, 2023.
