Gameplay for Spider-Man: Miles Morales Reveals Villain The Tinkerer

While there are a lot of games to be excited for when it comes to the PS5, one title we're sure is going to be available at launch is Insomniac Games' Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The PlayStation 5 Showcase had come with some great reveals, and we have some gameplay footage from the upcoming Spider-Man spinoff.

Check it out:

Like the first game, it looks like Miles Morales is going to be a beat-em-up with a mix of quick-time events. As you can see, Miles' powers are vastly different from Peter's, and it shows with how he takes out villains, from electrocuting them to turning invisible mid-fight and going sneaky. This game also looks to be a lot more colourful, with effects coming out of everywhere like a Square Enix game.

Going back to the story though, we get the reveal of one of the big villains which is the Tinkerer. We don't really know the identity of this version of the villain, but the Tinkerer we've met in comics and Spider-Man: Homecoming was male. It's going to be interesting to see how this new version of the villain is connected to the old one—if at all.

While some people are excited to see the return of Peter Parker, I think it's great that we don't have to wait for Peter's story to be over before we can take control of Miles Morales. I really like the animated revamp of Miles in Into the Spider-Verse, and I'm interested to see how Insomniac writes this version.

No independent release date has been set for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but it will launch alongside the PS5 on Nov. 12.
