Game of Thrones Star Is Thrilled The HBO Series Died Down

Though the Game of Thrones series ended with its controversial Season 8 back in 2019, it’s no secret that fans still share the same mixed reactions on how the HBO series finished its story.

There is little to no doubt that even the cast members feel the same way about the ending. In fact, one of the stars, Lena Headey, admits finding relief now that the series has died down.

“Yes, it’s died down. Thank God, because it was weird.” Headey admitted in a recent interview with Newsweek.

“And not in any shitty way.” She added, “It’s like, you kind of go, ‘OK, that was amazing and unexpected,’ and then you’re kind of like, ‘What’s next?’”

Overall, the actress said, getting to star in Game of Thrones is “an amazing thing to be a part of. So I’m very happy it happened, obviously.”

Considering that George RR Martin previously confirmed that there are more Game of Thrones spinoffs in the works, Headey would be pleased to know the author still has more up his sleeve.

Aside from House of the Dragon Season 2 being in development, Season 3 has already been greenlit ahead of its release.

More recently, a new Game of Thrones prequel has been officially announced by Warner Bros. Discovery, which will be based on Martin’s Tales of Dunk & Egg novellas.

The Dunk & Egg series will be titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight and will follow the young knight Ser Duncan the Tall and his little squire, Egg.

The series is set 90 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and will potentially feature a character we met in the original HBO series.

Seeing as it is still in early development, it has no official release date yet. But you can stay tuned for more updates on this story.

House of the Dragon Season 2 has no confirmed release date yet, but is expected to come out sometime in 2024.
