Game of Thrones Star Emilia Clark Wants to Join The Avengers

It looks like Game of Thrones alum Emilia Clarke is looking for some action in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Speaking in an interview with The Times, the British actress was asked whether she would want to join another major franchise after breaking out as Daenerys Targaryen in HBO's live-action adaptation of George R.R. Martin's fantasy epic book series, A Song of Ice and Fire. As it turns out, Clarke would want to try her hand at joining the MCU, just so that she could have a giggle with the Avengers.

"I think, if I did, it would be me having a giggle," Clarke told the publication, "I want to do something absolutely stupid and silly, like, you know, The Avengers or whatever. Something where I got to have a giggle with mates."

There's a whole lot of room for Clarke now that Marvel is moving on towards Phase 4 and 5 of the MCU. Marvel is developing a slew of films and television series both for theatrical release and for release on Disney+. There's bound to be a role for Clarke out there somewhere. Not only does the actress have experience on shows like Game of Thrones, but she's also done some time in other major franchises, starring in Terminator Genysis and then later on in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Sure, Solo: A Star Wars Story might not have been as commercially successful as the rest of the films in Disney's Star Wars release, but it did receive pretty positive reviews from fans and critics. Clarke was a delight in the movie too.

Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on May 1, 2020.
