The last episode of Game of Thrones Season 8 may have concluded with a depressing death and an unexpected plot twist but fans are certainly delighted with how things worked out for one particular character. The Iron Throne actually had a reunion or two that people were hoping to see before the series ended.
SPOILERS HERE! If you haven't seen Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6, now is the best time to turn back!
In The Iron Throne, Tyrion Lannister made his way around the destroyed King's Landing and eventually went up to the Red Keep. He somehow makes it through the rubble and immediately heads for the basement where he discovers the corpses of his siblings Jaime and Cersei Lannister. It's a bittersweet reunion of sorts as Tyrion realizes Daenerys Targaryen had somehow killed his beloved brother (and sister) before they could escape to Pentos.
That's not the only reunion we see in the series finale. Jon Snow also realizes that Arya Stark (who now has a habit of just popping into scenes) had gone to King's Landing and their reunion is short but straight to the point. Arya warns Jon that Daenerys will try to kill him for being a threat to her claim on the Iron Throne. Not surprisingly, Tyrion later echoes that sentiment when he speaks with Jon.
Sure, these aren't reunions we expected but the last one was truly something that made the episode a whole lot better. The new King of Westeros Bran Stark sends Jon to the Night's Watch where he joins Tormund Giantsbane and finally (oh yes, finally) gives Ghost the attention that the goodest of bois deserves.
It's an awesome reunion and fans are simply loving it.
In the end, Jon actually does exactly what he thought he would be doing for the rest of his life. He leads Tormund, Ghost, and the freefolk outside Castle Black and North of the Wall where he could actually become the King-Beyond-The-Wall. However, something tells me he'll probably say something about not wanting that, either.
